This was a unique issue, to put it lightly. I love that they twisted the expectations for this plot, even within the first issue. It's going to make for an interesting series...at least I hope so!

This is one of those events that makes me think "Maybe I should just give up on my DC titles and stick with other publishers." I don't read comics for the villains. Villains are a necessary evil for the heroes to fight against, but I don't like the larger-than-life villains. And when I saw how sprawling the plans were for Year of the Villain and saw how many of the DC titles I read will have issues tieing in with YotV, it makes me wonder if that should be where I go to cut my monthly comic shop bill.

Hummm promising. DC is pushing the idea that you don't have to read every title to learn what's going on. Much appreciated, wished to see Batman Who Laughs in this special.

I guess this a teaser for a DC's event of the year. I found the Batgirl story to be the most interesting.
