So, so good! Loved seeing them fall in love but doing this in a halaal way.
Also really enjoyed the balance of fluff and serious topics. While fluff is nice, this book dealt with a lot of important topics as well.

First of all, as A Muslim the injustice and the Islamophobia made my heart shatter. All the things that happened to Muslims all around the world where people won't accept them is just devastating. Living in a country where majority of people are Muslim really makes me feel grateful that I haven't experienced all of the cruel thing that happened to other Muslims out there. This book is an eye-opener that Muslims should get together and prevent from all this injustice to keep happening, not be selfish and tear each other apart. I do have one thing to say though, I was quite upset with how Zayneb talked to Adam on his sickness during their fight. It is true that Adam should've been more sensitive and understanding where's she's coming from. But she shouldn't have mentioned about him "chickening out' about telling his father about his sickness. Same opinion goes towards Adam, he should've been more careful and believed Zayneb when she was telling him about the discrimination. I'm so glad they made up and are more open to both their struggles though. AHHH and I'm so happy they're married!!! The ending had me melting like ice cream being exposed to the sun.rahaf22's review against another edition

Things I love about this book: a "halaal" love story, that the protagonist is burning with anger about injustice and in a friend group that takes down racists and islamophobes, Hanna in her scarf and sunglasses reading salaah, the Harry Potter references, the multiethnic/cultural background of the characters, the Emmas, that this book is set in Qatar and made me relive my holiday there.

Adam is Chinese-Canadian and Zayneb is a Pakistani-American. They are both Muslim and meet in Doha, Qatar over Spring Break. Adam still grieves over the death of his mother, but he is gentle and calm. Zayneb is grieving over the death of her Pakistani grandmother and is angry and fiery over the prejudice she is forced to endure by several people, including one of her teachers. As they fall for each other, the Muslim rules of courtship are hard. Zayneb learns to be calm while still making her voice heard. Adam learns that he can still be gentle but speak out and stand up for what he believes.
