Reasoning - Just as with the previous book, I loved this next instalment in the Summoner series. Meeting new characters and seeing all the characters from the previous book was extremely enjoyable, that pace of the book was very comfortable and easy to keep up with, and the twist of who the assassin was actually had my jaw dropping, my mind not once thinking of it being the character it was! It also had me scared for Fletcher and the others, showing how easily emotionally invested you become in the characters, and had me laughing at other parts, especially feeling relatable to Othello being able to sleep through anything and waking up oblivious to everything! The plot of this book was strong and there were no unnecessary side quests which I loved, and there are still many mysteries to uncover in the next book which I can’t wait to read! Yet again, I also loved that there was a demonology section at the end describing and illustrating the demons, along with a character list at the beginning so if I ever forgot who a character was, I could easily flick to the front and give myself a reminder.

Overall - This book had me as enthralled and enthused as the last, again reaching a 5 star read for me which I hope the next book can keep the standard of - which I shall be picking up as soon as I’m finished writing this review because yes, I did bulk-buy the rest of the series. I applaud Taran for yet another incredible book!
Would I read it again? Absolutely, definitely, yes!

Would I Recommend - I would recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, demonology and spell based, and loves an action-packed book with magical creatures and demons alike!

Amazing! I can't wait for the next one! Only like a month to wait, thank God!
SpoilerI can't believe Jeffrey was the traitor, that dick! And Lady Cavendish is LADY RALEIGH, Fletcher's MOM!!! AHHHHH!
All kinds of plot twists!! Definitely worth the read!

This was really good! The characters and their journey are a ton of fun to read about, through the good and bad, and I really enjoyed it! I would have continued onto the third book right away if it wasn't super late already. 5 stars!

"The Inquisition" by Taran Matharu is a thrilling continuation of the "Summoner" series, and it certainly lives up to the high standards set by its predecessor. The story picks up where "De Nieuweling" left off, with Fletcher continuing his journey as a summoner, facing new challenges, and encountering dangerous enemies.

What sets this book apart is the intricate world-building and the complex characters that inhabit it. The magic system is well-developed, and the reader is given a deeper insight into how it works. The political intrigue adds another layer of depth to the story, and the way in which the different factions interact is intriguing and keeps the reader on their toes. This is by far my personal favorite book of the entire "Summoner" series by Taran Matharu.

The character development in this book is also top-notch. Fletcher, in particular, goes through a significant transformation, becoming more confident and mature. The supporting characters are equally compelling, with each having their own unique personality and motivations. Matharu's writing is fast-paced, yet descriptive, and the action scenes are well-choreographed and exciting. The suspenseful moments are expertly crafted, and the plot twists keep the reader guessing until the very end.
Overall, "The Inquisition" is a must-read for fans of the "Summoner" series, as well as those who enjoy epic fantasy with rich world-building and dynamic characters. Matharu's writing continues to impress, and I cannot wait to see what he has in store for Fletcher and his companions in the next book.
