Light novel.. And a good one too. Thinking to give 5 stars but I settled for 4 stars but actually I'll give 4.5 stars.
My sister read it before and recommended it to me. I finally gave in yesterday to read this.
SpoilerWhen I was in the part where she went out to "save" Olly from his father, I told my sister that if she has a disease, she should have died right there.
I think for me the twist is kinda predictable in some point. But then I like the story. It's a nice book to read for young adult, hence the YA genre. Hahaha..

I’m really not sure if I had previously read the book or had watched the movie. So I don’t have much to say since I already knew the storyline.

This book was a solid read.
.
To be honest, this didn’t evict any emotions from me and it didn’t make me feel anything. I just read it because it was on my tbr. There wasn’t feeling of interest that pushes me to read forward, until half way through the book, closer to the end.
.
It was weird really. To see in the first few pages of this perfectly painted mother (well not perfect but close to being one), then at the end you see this broken person. It was heart shattering.
.
Maddy found out she isn’t sick. She never was.
What a shock!
Like really, I can’t imagine being lie to your whole life especially with something like this. The worst thing was that, her mother causes this.
.
Carla is AMAZING! I love her so much, she’s probably my favorite character in this novel. Carla has such an impactful part of the story and if she wasn’t there, then Maddy would live her whole life as a lie.
.
One thing I have to point out as well are the format. There are emails, IM, documents, checklist, illustration...etc It was so cool seeing all these different format and it made reading this easier as well as more visually pleasing.
.
.
.
Overall, it was a solid read. I think I may have such high expectation. But I do love the message of the story.

I feel like this book held up over the past couple years. I remembered what happened at the end, but I remember how surprised I was the first time I read it. I liked the mixed media of the book and the relationship between Madeline and Olly. I really enjoyed it.
