Nice book for any kid that likes cars, trucks, and trains. Illustrations were a little garish, done mainly in red, blue, and yellow. Stylistic drawings reminiscent of the fifties or sixties. What really bugged me though was that with all the people in this book (and there are a lot) not a single one was a person of color. In this day and age, diversity should be a given in any children's book.

This busy, colorful, comic-feeling picturebook would make a fantastic storytime piece. I expected a CD to accompany the book since the rhymes are so sing-songy that they could be, well, a song. There are lots of details and colors that would keep any toddler occupied, though it might not entice those with a refined sensibility for picturebook illustrations.
