I was not sure what to expect when I started this (and I must admit that the content warning at the beginning had me a little wary), but I am so glad that I read this. This was hard to read at times, but it was beautifully done.
Everyone compares this to The Time Traveller's Wife, but I agree with another review I read that compared it to The Lake House. I loved that movie, and I got major "Lake House" vibes from the setting, characters, and even the main event of this book. I found the ending to be bittersweet... but it fit the tone of the book, and I think it was a good ending for the story.
Ultimately, this is not your typical romcom, and it can be quite heavy at times, but I think it is definitely worth reading.

Spoiler I'm generally not a fan of time-travel novels, and this is no exception. I liked the characters, and enjoyed the book.

The premise of this book really interested me, and while I did enjoy it, I didn’t love it the way I’d thought I would. I think a lot of my struggles with it are debut issues, so I will definitely try another book by Melissa Baron if she decides to write one. It has a very slow start and often felt a bit repetitive, which meant that some of the characters and conflict weren’t fleshed out as well as they could have been. I would have loved to get a bit more depth on either MC’s relationships with their parents. Baron scratched the surface on that for both, but it felt like there could have been more. I did however really enjoy the representation, including a main character dealing with sever anxiety. I also thought overall the story itself was interesting and the characters were lovable. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others, but it isn’t a super light-hearted read, so keep that in mind when you’re picking it up.
