Anya is a typical American teenager and she's worried about her looks and argues with her mother. And merge into American culture and the halls of her private school. Until one day she falls into a deep hole in the park and found the bone of a long-dead girl and things quickly change. The spirit of a dead girl named Emily tells herself to Anya. Emily quickly becomes a friend to Anya, helping her with schoolwork, and finding the right thing to say to the boy of her dreams. The story of Emily's death, as she tells it to Anya is tragic and Anya wants to solve her murder. But as Emily begins to get more comfortable among the living, the truth about her past comes to light but Anya realizes that she has much to fear from her new friend. (I thought Siobhan, Anya’s friend, was a man but I found out she was a woman

It’s a good comic, a little silly feeling at times but a good quick read at the same time

A graphic novel where teenaged Anya struggles with body image issues.
After falling down into an abandoned well, Anya is haunted by a girl ghost.

Pretty much awesome. I don't want to give too much away, but this is a story about Anya, a girl who has normal teenage problems, and then falls in a well and meets a ghost. And it all goes nuts from there.

I'm a big fan of graphic novels using the illustrations to actually tell the mood and emotion of the story, rather than relying on plot headings and huge patches of dialogue and this took the cake. Visually it's got a very beautiful feel with lots of soft spiral lines that keep the fluidity of a ghost story just on the edge of creepy but modern. Even better, the characters were memorable and funny.

It's classic in a way that's not predictable but not surprising and is well worth the read.

Two thumbs up for a quick masterpiece. It's rare to pick up a book and not have a single criticism but well, here you go. Read it.

Mooi, maar misschien toch een beetje te veel gehyped. De verhaallijn is naïef en het pretendeert meer dan er te vinden valt.

Was on my TBR since a year, I believe.
A good YA graphic novel with a twist you possibly couldn't predict.
Would recommend.
