This book ends on a cliffhanger!

Trigger Warnings include:
torture, murder, mentions of rape & sexual assault, drugging

I can own you, possess you, and claim you, and you can always say no. You will always be able to back away, but you cannot back away from the truth. The second I saw you in The 68, the second you saw me, everything changed. You know it, I know it. Do not lie to me and tell me you don't feel this, when it's as strong as a lightning bolt ricocheting between us.

Blame it on my constant reading of mafia romance, but I’ve become picky about the instalove involved. But this, THIS! Oh the perfection of instalove involved with this duet! It was so easy to forget this only took place over such a short period of time. Luciu is so very focused on bringing respect back to his family name (which by the way, is a ridiculously enjoyable clusterffrick of a mess!). So when Jen comes into his life, he’s thrown off balance. Of course, not enough to throw him off course, but enough for his siblings to intervene (or at least try to). Luc and Jen are too stubborn (and attached) to let anything come between them. He’s the stereotypical “must protect my woman and spoil her to no end because she is a queen and worth burning the world to ash for” kind of mafia man. Not to mention the Italian that he whispers in her ear. They’re the Gomez and Morticia Addams of mafia.

If you’re looking for a full length mafia duet full of vengeance, family drama, unstoppable love, PLUS a connection to the Filthy series, you’ll want to read this duet! And wait until you read the drama in The Lady! This is NOTHING!

I liked the romance part, but the mafia stuff was too much and too boring. Also I’m not really into the gold digger slutty virgin trope. Probably won’t read book 2.

How do you know when an author has created a winning new cast of characters? When you finish the book and immediately miss them. I literally finished reading The Don and one of my first thoughts was how soon is too soon for a reread? The other thought was holy goodness what just happened?

Luciu and Jen’s chemistry is undeniable from the very first page. Luciu was in no way looking for a queen when he meets Jen, the top of his to do list was to reclaim the famiglia for the Sicilians. However, this new Don can multitask with working on reclaiming his throne and wooing the woman. Jen is definitely the leading lady you didn’t know you needed. I will admit to being skeptical about her, however, learning her backstory and what makes her tick will have you rooting for Luciu as he works his way into her heart.

This book is going to make you laugh, it will definitely make you swoon, because who doesn’t love a man who says sweet nothings in Sicilian. It will also make you go what in the world just happened in the way that only a Serena Akeroyd book can. Thank heavens this cliffhanger will be short lived because I need The Lady to answer all my questions!!

I feel like I’ve missed out a bit by jumping in here as opposed to starting with the other books in the Five Points universe though it was more about not understanding the connections with side characters; the story itself was easily understood.

The Don is filthy hot right from the start!! Luciu is an intense Sicilian hell bent on avenging his family. Once he ascends to the position of the Don, he amps up his search for long lost family heirlooms. Amid a variety of trials, he falls hard and fast for Jennifer, a known gold digger and daughter of a prostitute.

There’s no shortage of heat or action, but we end on a cliffy just as things were getting good! Bring on The Lady!
