The second book was cute, I enjoyed the first one a bit better. However the charter build I felt was very important in this one and needed to be expanded upon. We learned more about the lore and history behind the world!

I’m not exactly sure what about this book didn’t work for me, but I just didn’t enjoy it as much as the first one. I read that book all in one day, but it took me almost a week to slowly make my way through this one. The plot was more interesting, but I think the pacing was a bit off and the way the red herrings were added in made things feel a bit disjointed and confusing. In the end, the big climax seemed to go really quickly and not be a good payoff for the build up of the rest of the book. I also didn’t love the romance as much in this book, probably in part due to their distance, but also their attitudes towards each other. I am glad I ended up reading this duology, but i’m not sure I would recommend it.

FINALLY i can say that I’ve finished this book (although i had to skip some parts to be able to do it), honestly, I think the first book is WAY better! i loved and read extremely fast, but it wasn’t the same with this one and I was disappointed, it took my A LOT to get to the main plot – guess even if i love characters using magic, i still have a trouble with them learning how to use magic
