One night in December, at the Palace de Verbier, location: The swiss Alps, a murder takes place and the police can’t come to a conclusion, no one can find the killer. The case remains unsolved.

After many years, in the summer of 2018 an author comes to the Palace of Verbier to enjoy his holiday of silence and peace. But he finds out about this case and he can’t sleep at night believing that he can solve it. So, he starts writing a book about it.

But what took place in Room 622 in the middle of a cold winter?

His latest novel is a dedication to his late editor who died of old age. Our author came to write this biography at the Verbier, when discovered that there’s no room called 622 which is odd because 621 and 623 exists, he sleeps in one of them.

There he meets a lonely lady who starts helping him solve this case.

On another plan called the past, we have a political love story unfolding and oh man, how boring it is… It’s a story about power, politics, coruption, money, true love, murder all wrapped in mystery.

This book was shady, had a lot of things going on all at once and it had boring phases but the ending saved it all. I wouldn’t read it again and it’s not my fave from Dicker that’s for sure but it was good and in his style but I craved more murder, mystery and substance alltogether.

DNF 40%

Started strong and quickly fell flat. I signed up for a murder mystery and at 40% they’re still not dead. It’s full of filler and fluff I do not care about at all. The English translation writing style is boring and simple. The characters are dull and the plot is painfully slow. This does not need to be 600 pages. For some reason there are spies? For some reason the author himself is a character? Idk anymore.
