I have no idea why anyone would write this for what seems to be their daughter to read. This woman's childhood was awful just like the book, badly written with room for an unnecessary sequel

This book has been by far one of the most moving and amazing stories I have ever read, especially because it is a true story. It made me remember lots of things from my own childhood, but it was told so beautifully and in such a plain style, that I think it has made me consider my own past in a different light. It made me think that I have also succeeded in having a life of my own. Thank you so much, dear Dawn, for sharing your story with all of us, bringing loads of positivism and lessons in strength to our lives.

This was just ok for me. The style was at times difficult to read. Not sure if the editing was the problem or that is just the way it was supposed to be. I also wished it would have told more.

This is the story of Amelia and her journey through the care system. It made me think of all the children that get stuck in the system. I sometimes wonder how some manage to turn out as well as they do.
