After reading another book by Kate Canterbury, I readlly wanted to check out her work with a queer couple. 

I did enjoy the beginning of the book. But the discussion around queer identities, especially bisexuality, really through me off (see my content warnings). 

I also absolutely hated the "miscommunication" stuff. I mean Cole wanted to talk about his life multiple times and Owen just did not want to. And then he freaks out when he finds out. Well then maybe listen before. 

Also as a person who works in tech, what did Cole do? There is basically no information on it. He hates on some social media companies, and codes some stuff in the bedroom. Thats it. If he is the CEO of the company that basically "invented" the internet (

You're a fucking billionaire and you've invented, like, the entire internet, and you never thought any of that was worth mentioning?

) I would have really like to know a bit more about it...

There two paragraphs that are quite biphobic:

And praying that he was gay. Hell, I'd be happy with bisexual. I'd scrub the memories of all those pretty young bi boys I'd met in Bar Harbor and Kennebunkport over the years. The ones who sucked cock like they'd declared it their major. The ones who preferred to sneak around because their parents wouldn't understand. The ones who only wanted to play in secret, the ones who led straight lives, the ones who were all for equality but refused to see themselves in the Pride flag. The ones who always went back to Yale or Penn, and their girlfriends, come September. The ones who returned summers later for their posh, picturesque weddings to those same Ivy League girlfriends. The ones who taught me to stick with one-night stands and no last names because my heart was too tender for anything real.

And

I didn't want to hear this. I didn't, but I did. The thought of Cole with other men—a buffet of men, no less—twisted my gut. Cole with women was a different form of pain. I could hold my own when I was competing with gay guys for his affection, but I was powerless when it came to women.
