Thrilling book, makes me realise I might like horror/thriller/mystery more than I thought.
However the solution to the mystery was a bit of a let-down; also the fact that was a let-down for me too. I would have liked a bit more of a satisfying ending; Instead of Cool book though, and I liked split storylines (past & present). Will keep on reading more of Blake Crouch.
However the solution to the mystery

I'm an odd one out. This book took me forever to finish because I thought it was incredibly boring... I was interested at first but shortly after the group hikes to Abandon I completely lost interest and had to force myself to finish this.

Crouch is one of my fav authors. I’ve loved every other one of his books, but just couldn’t get into this one and I’m struggling to quantify why really. Don’t enjoy the 1890s story line. Lots of the period appropriate language was lost on me. Didn’t really care for any of the characters in either time line. To reiterate, I’ve read 6 other Crouch books and loved every one, but this one was a miss for me unfortunately. Still, can’t wait for his next offering

I really like Crouch's books. I find them incredibly gripping and unpredictable.
Abandon is no exception. I was hooked early on and was kept guessing with where the story would go. I do wish it wasn't quite so drawn on though, every time they were getting somewhere, another thing would go wrong. It almost became like a comedy sketch.
This would make a great pool-side read.
