A really quick and mostly easy read. Didn’t enjoy it anywhere as much as the first one though and didn’t really get a sense of the story being ‘complete’.

This book says it’s a stand-alone sequel, but I think this book is helped by reading The Family Upstairs first. That being said I did like this book more than the first, but the whole time I was so concerned about Phin.

I really enjoyed this follow-up to The Family Upstairs. It was dark but not as twisty as its predecessor, and once again had multiple POVs - some first person, some third person, which will forever baffle me - and I found the ending satisfying.

This was a wholly unnecessary sequel with an ending to this story that wrapped up just a bit to cleanly for my taste.
