I really am not in the kind of mood to appreciate this book. I was hoping to read something light and funny, and I guess this is not my kind of funny. Nor the kind of romance I want to moon about. So, I'd rather not rate the book as I couldn't finish it.

I wish the deception about having consumption would have lasted a bit longer but overall a fairly decent read

This could've gone one of two ways. There's a lot of fighting and dirty tricks, and I came close to disliking it because of that. But you can also read it as an Oscar Wilde-style farce, and that's what I chose to do. It was still a bit overwhelmed by the fighting, but generally enjoyed it.

"To Have and to Hoax" was a fun historical romance about an estranged married couple who fake illnesses and flirtations to get the other's attention. This book wasn't quite a miscommunication trope, but it also kind of was. I liked it enough to continue reading the series, but I don't think I'd reread this book.

This is not my favorite of Water’s regency books. It’s a lot of miscommunication (and purposeful miscommunication) and somewhere around the 70-80% point I was done with it. It does have funny moments and I enjoy the world and characters generally, but It definitely is in the #3 spot of the three I’ve read and I’m glad I read other ones first.

Great book! I found myself laughing out loud while reading, and I thoroughly enjoyed the increasingly ridiculous games the two of them played on each other.
