1.5 stars. I only went through with reading it because I'd gotten it before trying one of Weir's other books. It was better than Captive Queen... but still shallow and not really what I'd hoped for.

What a sad life Katherine lived.

By trying to fit 35 years in one book, the book has a paper doll feel.

Very solid book. I enjoyed Weir's take on Katherine's history, and also that while Anne Boleyn was present, she didn't overtake the story (likely because Weir is saving details for her own book on Anne). We stay with Katherine from the beginning to the bitter end, and the story was well-done.

Just beautiful. Loved how the focus stayed on Katherine the whole time. The subtitle „her story“ has been done justice. All in all great work by the author, research and narrative, loved it. This wasn’t an easy project and my expectations were exceeded!

And what an inspiring woman Katherine of Aragon was. I encourage everyone who is curious about this English Queen and touched by her fate, faith, courage and personality to read it.

This book really moved me, I shall be thinking about it for some time.

Well written and the author really brings Katherine of Aragon to life.
Although fiction, it is based on historical facts, and it is interesting to read from Katherines' POV instead of the usual focusing on Henry himself.
