This book was dark, slow-moving, and unsatisfying. There really wasn’t a character that I liked nor even one decision that I liked. I didn’t root for the main character as an anti-hero, I simply wanted to see if she’d suffer consequences.

I read 700 pages of Ayn Rand because I refused to start an unfinished list.
I read 70 pages of The Almost Moon and I can't do this anymore. The list is going up.
SpoilerI thought killing her mother was too much, and by page seventy she was "with" her best friends son after killing her mom, cutting off her hair, giving her a bath, and leaving her on the floor to rot. I'm good, thank you.
I'm really fine not reading this.
I understand- characters and situations don't have to be likable for a story to be well crafted or intriguing. But besides the fact that I don't read past PG-13, even if all that didn't bother me, the whole point is shock value and making the main character as sympathizable yet demented as physically possible. It isn't well written, there is no depth, there is no real plot beyond shock value, there's no point or explanation to anything she does besides that her mom was selfish, it's just... it just sucks on all the levels it can suck on.
I bought it at a library book sale and I'm tempted to drop it in the drop box. I don't want to own this book.
Don't read it please. For your own good. Bad writing, no plot, and just... no. No.
