I couldn't quite tell if this was for people who had already seen the show or for newcomers to the clone club, but either way it was lacking just a bit at first. The book follows 5 of the clones (Sarah, Helena, Alison, Cosima, Rachel) from the beginning events of season 1. It starts off with Sarah but this section of the book was basically the first episode translated right to the page. This felt a bit repetitive and boring for someone who has already been a fan of the show. The Rest of the stories, however, are sort of like missing scenes or events that happened in another perspective which was interesting for me, but would have been very confusing for people new to Orphan Black. Helena and Cosima's wound up being my favorite stories. A definite strength of the book are the alternate cover pages- Soooo pretty. If you love Orphan Black get past the first section, the rest are a nice insight to the clone sister's stories.

Giving this 3 stars because it does a good job of being a companion to and the refresher for the existing series, but doesn't add a lot to the material. I loved the individual colors for each clone's inner monologue, as well as the stylized text. What was most exciting perhaps was the Rachel chapter for it's focus on her background, which we get so little of otherwise. The alternate covers/art in the back was great too, and I love the overall look of the series in general. The only critique, again, is that it's lacking in a lot of new information (and would probably be hard to follow if you hadn't been watching along). Looking forward to reading more!

I loved the flashbacks - I love learning more about our girls. Awesome tie-in to an awesome show.

Evidently this book is based on a tv series that I have never heard of; and being that the book gives no background, I was pretty lost on the first part. After I realized what was going on, I was bored. I won't be continuing this series. The plot seems interesting, but the execution wasn't great. I just don't see myself wasting time on reading a volume 2.

For me, this was the best Orphan Black comic yet. The background information was very interesting; I think we all want to know what made Rachel who she is today. I can't wait to learn more about the newly introduced clone, Veera, and I can't wait till November to read Orphan Black: Helsinki!

For a tie-in, the content was spot-on. But if you're a fan of the show, there's not much new information except in the last 2 issues. Looks like future comics will have more new stories.

2.5* I absolutely love Orphan Black, and sadly the comic pales in comparison. The depth and complexity of the show doesn't come across in the comics. I think they just didn't have enough time in each issue to get both character development and plot that is displayed in the show. As an avid fan of the TV series, I 2qa hoping this would provide more insight and information not provided in the show. This was more of a comic version of the first season of the show, which is okay, but I think if I hadn't seen the show, I would be very confused.
