Delivering exactly what it promises, The Nature Fix is informative but not too dense, explaining the various ways nature benefits us. This was wonderful as an audiobook, particularly while walking in nature while listening.

This really makes you think about how much more people should be outdoors and connected to nature like we were originally meant to be. There's a real disconnect nowadays and according to this book, not being out in nature is the reason for people's unhappiness. I certainly will be outside more!

Really, this could have been a LOT shorter. I get it, being outside has a lot of benefits. They have been studied. Wow.

At first, it was interesting but it quickly became too many of the same basic findings in a bunch of different studies. GO OUTSIDE. Even if it's cold (easier said than done).

The Nature Fix is a 300 page book that can be summed up succinctly with one sentence: Get out in nature! I don't know quite how to feel about spending eight hours reading a book that can be summed up in one sentence, but I am glad I read this one all the same. It is well-written, interesting, and filled with research and anecdotes about the necessity of nature from views around the world.

Simple but lovely

It was fact filled, but mostly it was stories from where the author found evidence of nature helping people. But the stories were nice, some were very heavy.

Overall I loved it for its simplicity and just general good feeling.

Excellent read. She organized, researched and put into words a lot of things that have been hanging around in the back of my mind for the past few years. I've noticed that very time we go on an outside adventure, even if it's just taking the dog to a nearby park instead of our usual walk around the neighborhood, I always feel better afterward, even when I'm bone-tired. The great thing about having read this book is that now I understand those little feelings so much better. I leave this book with a clearer mandate to make sure I get outside more and that our family make time to visit more wild places. I think it's also a general wake-up call to our country to get people out more, and make sure that we do our part to support and promote our parks.

Not the biggest fan of her approach to mental health issues. There was no need for her to set up a false dichotomy between nature and medication, as she seemed to be doing. There’s already too much stigma and misinformation surrounding managing mental health issues at is, so it was just a hard hope for me.
