Love the setting. <3

Lucy is a radio host, quite well known. She is good at her job, but lately, her addiction is getting in the way. She spends a lot of nights drinking and has a hard time coming to work on time, always the life of the party.

The last straw is when an edited video of her goes viral. Media backlash follows. There are threats, people are taking sides and Lucy just wants to escape. Her friend Skye's brother owns an outdoor retreat, close to the arctic circle, Wild Zone. When offers come her way, she can't refuse.

She agrees to help with guests, in return for her stay, but getting on the same page as Tommi, the hot owner, is a little bit hard.

I love the storyline and the setting. I was transported to Finnland and the beautiful retreat. But I had a hard time liking the characters. I didn't feel like I got to know Tommi and Lucy enough to root for them.

After reading the short summary you might think that the adventure in Wild Zone starts immediately, but that is not the case. First you meet Lucy and her colleagues at the Star FM radiostation. Only then does the offending video come along and Lucy hides in her house. She no longer dares to go outside and after a letter from an unknown sender has been delivered to her home, she doesn't know what to do with herself anymore. Then her friend Skye, who is also her colleague, comes with the proposal to go to Wild Zone, which is owned by Tommi. Henri, Skye's friend, is Tommi's brother. Lucy's journey is nicely described and also her arrival in wintery Lapland. The adventures she experiences there as a winter rookie, but also the conversations with Tommi, Johanna and Rudi. You actually think that it will just continue to ripple and that Lucy will have to fall for Tommi and that it will be okay in the end. Well, it's certainly all well that ends well, but the road to the end is certainly not a bed of roses, there are still a lot of things happening that I didn't see coming. To be honest, I really thought if this fun adventure continues for a while, then it would be a bit boring. But it didn't get boring in the least, because suddenly everything happened! Lucy's growth is well described and the expected feel-good ending is certainly not missing!

I love the drama that this book starts with and the determination Lucy has to continue.

I really liked the descriptions of situations and people in this book. This book has a bit of everything, it's humourous, emotional, romantic, exciting, though provoking and a great bit of girl power.

I really loved the air punch moment near the end of the book, if you read it you'll know what I mean.

Brilliant books and I will be recommending to all.

I was expecting a cozy romcom, but it had a bit more depth. Yes, there is romance and there are some cute & funny moments, but the story is more about hitting rock bottom and finding your way back and the dark side of social media. Definitely worth the read.

I got this arc in exchange for an honest review.

The best thing about this book is the description of Finland. The author does an amazing job describing Finland that I want to visit there. Overall, I did not connect with Lucy. I found her to not deal with her life or feelings very well.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Meet Me Under the Northern Lights was an okay book. Kind of weird to rate it this way but I'm not really sure how I feel about this. The setting and Finland sound beyond gorgeous. Definitely makes me want to travel right now. It's just that I didn't really connect with the characters throughout this.

In this, you will meet Tommi and Lucy. They were okay, I guess. I definitely like Tommi a bit more than Lucy though. It seemed like things went in one ear and out the other. Which definitely frustrated the heck out of me. Other than that, the pacing was pretty slow for most of this book. So, I easily found myself bored with everything that was happening.

Overall, in some weird way I'm happy that I got the chance to dive into this. I sort of got to visit a place I've never been through. Just wished that I connected or liked the characters because I would have enjoyed the book more if I did.

Meet Me Under the Northern Lights - Emily Kerr

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

All it takes is one moment to change your life . . .

When a cleverly edited video of radio host Lucy Fairweather goes viral, she knows she needs an escape. And preferably somewhere far away.

Where better than Wild Zone – a destination for people who want to experience the Arctic Circle? Owned by the gorgeous but brooding Tommi, Lucy agrees to help with the guests in return for her stay. But getting to grips with her skis is proving harder than it looks.

This was a magical book with the ability to instantly transport me to Finland. This is an enjoyable book as we join Lucy on her journey of self discovery. Whilst it contains some delicate topics, it was written in a light-hearted way and a perfect escape for the holiday season.
