Fun! Frieda McFadden's books aren't the most original, but they are a good time!

This was the kind of mystery I really like. It was concise and interesting without having a zillion characters or red herrings, everything flowed really well and the ending was great. The pace was perfect for me, the plot progressed steadily, a really good book!

I love Frieda’s books. My only gripe is there was a lot of themes and imagery clearly lifted from her other books that made this feel a bit weaker than her other titles.

I really don't know what to say about this book I have  mixed feelings about it. In the first half I was so invested in but then it became very disturbing ( although it's normal for this kind of books). The wife was very stupid  and annoying her husband was a walking red flag and he made me very angry I hated him very much and sylvia was very dumb at the end  as why didn't she want to go to the hospital. I wanted to know how it ended but at the same time it was hard to read . I can't say there was a big twist at the end as it was  predictable  but I was relieved when I finished it . Overall I liked it but I have read better books  by Freida.

Gripping.
Vivid characters and setting.
It dragged in places but I'm so glad it wasn't as predictable as I thought, and the loose ends were tied up nicely.

This was easy and fast to read, but at one point, I was frustrated - too much gaslighting, too many twists, and not even very good ones at that. Characters were also terrible. She’s written much better books than this.
