3.5 Stars ~ Accidental Fall is a sweet and quick story with a very little angst. The blurb pretty much captures what the book is about, and there weren’t really any unexpected twists or surprises to be found. This was a mostly charming story, though I will admit I am sucker for angst, and I would perhaps have preferred a tad bit more of the drama. Though I acknowledge fifty-seven pages doesn’t leave much time to accomplish an in-depth plot or a lot of character development. What the story provides is a glimpse at a sweet romance that grows between two young college guys who start out as acquaintances, and eventually find more. It was just enough to keep me satisfied.
Both characters were developed fairly well given the shorter length of the story. Keith, with his misplaced plan of seduction for a little bump and grind—only to find he actually likes Greg; and Greg, with his running from Keith, as well as his emerging feelings for the man who can’t seem to keep his clothes on in their room.
Their relationship would technically be considered a slow-burn if you take into account the timeline. However, the story progresses quickly and chapters jump weeks at a time, so that slow-burn occurring between Keith and Greg isn’t on-page. I generally like to read more of the build-up for my MCs, so it felt a little hasty, even though timewise it actually wasn’t. The time spent on page with Keith and Greg was entertaining and their progression from barely acquaintances to somewhat friends, and eventually more, kept me reading. They both are young adults (sophomores in college), and I felt their maturity coincided with their age and the situations they both have been through. Shae Connor did a pretty respectable job of keeping the behavior and thoughts realistic, which is something I appreciate. Greg appears to be more mature, his focus on school and staying away from anything that could trigger a relapse. His past has made him a little more on the responsible side, while at the same time it’s the reason he is skittish of Keith. He is focused on his education and doesn’t want to lose sight of that particular priority. Keith, on the other hand, seems to be a little more carefree (on the weekends) and, to me, a little more rebellious and selfish in the beginning. He takes his education seriously, but he also isn’t after anything serious with another person, preferring to just have fun and keep his school and fun-times separate.
If you are looking for a cute and quick read that doesn’t get too angsty and leaves you with a smile, this story could definitely be for you.

This was on Borrowbox but it's like, an 87 page ebook that reads like very clunky fanfiction! Maybe I am an author too!
