I enjoyed this collection. The blurb was very enticing and definitely grabbed my attention so I wanted to give it a try, even though some reviews had me wondering but I am glad that I gave it a shot. The first book is really an introduction (even though a ton of things happen) but we get to see what made Sydney Rye. The second book is where things starting picking up for me. This is really where Joy makes the transition to Sydney. I enjoyed watching her train and become stronger and see that where she wanted to go moving forward was writing wrongs and making justice happen in instances where it wasn't though she doesn't just go off willy-nilly over all. The third book picks up a few years after that and now she is embroiled in another situation that doesn't make sense and something is seriously wrong and Sydney just can't let it be. She has to figure out what the truth is and do what is right according to her moral code. I will definitely be grabbing the next collection to see what is in store for Sydney next.
The narrator did a good job, not great but good. It still adds a certain aspect listening to it but the emotions and voices aren't as vibrant to really bring the story to life.
