Fun, Christmas-y, thriller-ish fluff read.
adventurous funny lighthearted mysterious fast-paced

Such a fun laugh at loud rom/com mystery. Addictive.

Not bad, but not memorable. I’m typically a nut for some spy element, but it seemed totally irrelevant here.

Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

The mystery thriller element in this book is light…almost comical but provided a little boost to just another romance. The comedy from this romcom is witty and bordering on ridiculous at some points but the characters are a mixture of zany, stereotypical and intriguing that this was a good fun read that was just a little different enough for me to enjoy just that little bit more

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review
adventurous emotional mysterious tense medium-paced

I was originally going to use this for spy thriller but I changed my mind because this isn’t what I would consider a spy thriller. The stakes were just never that high to me.
My favorite part of the book was when Sydney and Nick were on the stale out and getting to know one another. He conversation seemed very real and the type of conversation you don’t normally get in a rom com.
I do t know that I would read more by this author. I didn’t hate it. But I didn’t love it. It was passable and it works great for my “set in winter”
Prompt.

This was so silly and cute, goodbye

Super fun, cute holiday romance. I loved the blend of a spy caper with holiday rom com. The supporting characters were very enjoyable and the storyline between the main characters was cute and entertaining.

WHAT A GREAT BOOK TO END 2023 WITH?! IT EVEN ENDS ON NYE? Goooorlllll

This one had me giggling like you would not believe. The banter? Amazing. Spice isn't really there but this was equal parts fun and intriguing. I loved our characters. I felt like this book read the most like how the inside of my brain sounds? Which is such a specific thing to say in a review but whatever leave me alone.

Anyways, obsessed. I loved the idea of a CIA agent/bodyguard romance but the way we peel this story back just makes it so much better.

WAY TO GO CARLIE. GIVE ME MORE PLS
