The ending was a nice wrap-up for the series, I feel like it fits the idea very well.
Still there have been some things that bother me :

- The use of the word "ruefully" and some other adverbs
- The unnecessary and too short-griefed killing of many characters who deserved more than a one-page death
- it felt too easy sometimes because there are so many people to help and still it takes so long, it felt drawn out
- The whole Essence fighting scenes were repetitive
- I still didn't feel the connection to the characters or between them
- throughout the series I would have wished for more perspectives since they could have made the long story more interesting

I personally wasn't overwhelmed by this work but it was okay, I guess just not my type of books. Maybe fans of Lord of the Rings would like this better than I did.
