This book had the opportunity to be great, but they did my least favorite trope of all time.
I can’t stand when it turns out the narrator has been evil the whole time and king to you. The culprit should not be the narrator unless the reader is in on it. It feels like a cheap trick to do it that way.
the way I thought the book was going to go made for a way more interesting story than the one that was told, but I think the story could’ve been salvaged by removing
the mother, Lizzy,
as a narrator.

Just when it started to get a bit repetitive, BAM! Such a twist in the book which made my jaw drop!

Holy MOLY. I haven’t had a twist like that in so long that I was beginning to think I had thrillers all figured out! Well done Suzy Quinn, you have a new fan!

Went in a totally different direction to what I was expecting! Just wish it didn’t take so long to get there - not much happened for 300 pages and then it all happened at once.

Good story, however, it did drag in some places. But, WOW, what a plot twist. Definitely did not see that one coming.

This is a twisty thriller but I found it to be such a slow burn and that took away from my enjoyment of the story. It's definitely more psychological than plot-driven overall. I liked the dark vibe of the story and our FMC's character was well developed. We have some solid red herrings to distract us from reality too. I suspected the answer by 50% in so the second half dragged even more as I waited to find out if I was right.
