I really enjoyed this book full of scientific discovery, and just the right amount of real life drama among the Victorian sect. It gives a lot of insight into how much medical knowledge has improved in only a short period of time. There are definitely some pretty gristly descriptions of surgeries, but it’s important to understand the details and how the antiseptic movement helped save lives. Wash your hands!

Informative and gory (in a good way!) but at times a little dry towards the end
