Literally breathtaking. It's rare that I find poetry that makes me go 'I see why people love this medium'. THIS is it for me.

Haunting and beautifully dark and full of complex feelings, this book is everything I've been expecting since I first read about it. This is a book that no review could give credit to, so I'll simply encourage you to pick it up and try for yourself. It is chock full of heavy things, so if you struggle with mental health or have common triggers, I would advise waiting on a good day to read. It is a short read, but one that requires a little extra thought.

one day i will have coherent thoughts about siken's beautiful grasp of language and emotion, but today is not that day. cried at my kitchen table over the use of violent and bloody imagery to communicate queer desire 5/5
