This man knew God. And when I say know God, I don’t mean he knew about God but he experienced and was led by God. His words leap off the page and land on your heart. If you want to rekindle your fire for Jesus, get down on your knees and pray to a God who hears and responds to prayer. This Ravenhill book helps you in this process.

Although this book appears to have been written for Pastors and Church leaders, it also contained a wealth of spiritual insights that anyone could benefit from. "Why Revival Tarries" emphasizes the utterly vital role of prayer in man's relationship with God. Prayer is an undervalued practice that grows, strengthens, and motivates the Believers, as well as moves and shakes the world.
The author was very fond of using a certain format of sentence to make his points, although the statements made were true. That repetitive sentence structure was the one thing that I found slightly tedious.
I was personally convicted about my prayer life. Just as forming any new habit isn't easy, I know that cultivating a meaningful and powerful prayer life will take time and dedication, but I know that just like everything else in our relationship with God, the effort will be more than worth it. "Why Revival Tarries" is a convicting read that I would recommend to any Christian.

An incredible look at your own soul, which is ultimately where revival starts in you! So many great thoughts to ponder in this book. The final idea, “Is your name known in Hell?” Wow!

A master of literation - but by the end more law than Gospel.

DNF stopped reading after a few chapters. It seemed more fitting for pastors. It felt like the author was preaching “ at me” instead of “to me” I was disappointed because it has a lot of good reviews. I chose to read this book because I saw a video of someone highly recommended it

I read this book when I was probably in Junior High and it was definitely one of the books that shaped my life. I recently re-read it and it still spoke volumes to me. It's definitely a must read for any Christian

This book brought so much conviction, urgency, & teachings
If you burn for revival I highly recommend this book, however it's not for the lighthearted, Leonard is not afraid to call out complacency in our Christian lives.
Upon reading this book be ready with your dictionary and be ready for uncomfortable spiritual growth.
