2.75 rounded up as a stretchhh. Doesn't feel right rating it lower, but also.
It was underwhelming. I kept on expecting it to grow into itself/the summary but it didn't. Both main characters annoyed me in different ways, mostly, I think it was the miscommunication/lack there of and fickleness that came across as incomplete character development. Also,

“Love is letting someone have the power to hurt you in ways you haven’t even thought of yet.”
A beautiful romance and a good story with character development. But it was a little to much back and forth at times, one second they were having the best time of their life and the next they were breaking up. But still a book I enjoyed to read.

After a tough few days, finishing a meet-cute (or not meet cute?) wlw romance left a warm, satisfied feeling in my stomach. As a lesbian D1 student-athlete who had her identity figured out much before her peers, I related to Morgan on an intimate level that I was not expecting from a book I decided to read just because it had a pretty cover. She's loyal but stubborn, wears her heart on her sleeve but finds that because of this, it often breaks. Following Morgan's arc was like staring at myself in the mirror—pimples, pores, unplucked eyebrows, and more—and learning to love my reflection again.
Ruby reminded me of my once-closeted ex-girlfriend and how I was once in a similar position as Morgan (and Danny, for the matter). But we chose to breakup, and over the years, have let our friendship come to a close because it still hurts. "Some Girls Do" truly illuminates the complexities of relationships between LGBT youth, and despite no longer being in love with my ex, I ached for her once I finished this book. Very few authors have made me feel so deeply about their characters, but fewer still made me empathize and evaluate my own life choices.
A great read on a hot summer afternoon!

I really enjoyed how the MC's were at different places with their sexuality and they both were able to find their way together. The conflict felt natural and one of those "easier said than done" situations, but I felt for the characters having spent a little time on both sides of that fence and with having the unaccepting family. Loved this book!
