I love this

What a weird, sad, lovely, heart wrenching, and at times profound collection of stories. If you like BJH you’ll love this too.

Light read that is mostly fun and sometimes dramatic. A strong, but singular voice that varies in effectiveness. Fleeting moments of moving prose that required significant labor to work up to. The best pieces resemble premises for offbeat cartoons, surprising nobody.

One of my favorite books read in the past five years. The stories are equally heartwrenching as they are funny. Would expect nothing less from the writer of Bojack Horseman.

I’m livid. I’m so angry! This was TOO good. I’m fuming. How dare his brain come up with this shit?? God.

it is honestly insane that they gave this book such a mid, dogwater, ig poetry title, referencing the weakest story in the collection, when a couple of these were 11/10 and i still think about them often despite having listened to this as an audio book *once* several years ago. Like, damn! The best one is referenced in the cover art, but not the title? (Real ballers will know what i'm talking about)

I think these are good short stories but these types of short stories aren’t really up my alley

A charming set of short stories that run the gamut from silly, to poignant to a little dull. The comedic writing is super fun, but sometimes retracts from the heart of the story. Also, count me in for the Barenaked Ladies "One Week" conspiracy.

3.5/5

Like I said before, there was bits and pieces that were skipped but the ones that were not skipped were fascinating.

This book was a trip. Too ethereal for me.

The best ones were the short form ones.

The longer ones lost me because I couldn't connect to the kooky.
