So much happened in the last 30-50 pages! It was still so good, but why couldn't there be more incidents? Some scenes needed a little bit of action. It dragged a little. One of the things that kept me going was the romance between Avery and Jameson. I know that Grayson and Avery "think similarly", but Avery and Jameson have more chemistry, even if Grayson and Avery help each other work on things personally. Because it dragged, it was still good, but not as good as the first book.

Back again for book two in the Inheritance Games series. I liked the first one but this one was even better! Action packed with twists that I didn't see coming - even some that were "obvious" turned out to be res herrings.

Yes, it's definitely a YA series. So if that isn't for you, then leave this one on the shelf. But if you're open to a puzzle-packed mystery, full of ancient family drama, this one may just be made for you!

I loved the character growth for Avery and the Hawthorne brothers. I'm already looking forward to diving into book three when I can get it from the library!

I want to reallllllly like these, but I'm only finding them mostly okay and entertaining, which is starting to annoy me. Yes, there are whiplash levels of twisty, interesting reveals, but the puzzles and clues feel kind of basic. Combined with the angsty love-triangle-ness of it all, it just feels a bit juvenile compared to other YA mysteries I've enjoyed. It's still a pretty fun ride, though, so I'm definitely go on to book 3. And Max is the best — she's with 3 stars just on her own!

i was gonna give this somewhere between 4 and 5 but then so much happened in the last couple chapters it kinda felt a bit overwhelming and was a bit all over the place. i did realllyyyyyyy enjoy this tho!!! this is my favorite series i've read in a long time. again i'm always a little surprised on how heavy the romance is but honestly i think this had good moments where there was no thought of it. sometimes though i just wanna shake avery like GIRL STOP THINKING ABOUT GRAYSON OR JAMESON THIS IS NOT THE TIME 😭 something crazy related to the mystery will happen and suddenly you''ll just read one of those two names like girl 💀

It was really good! It got to be slightly confusing at times, but very good. I don't know if I enjoyed it as much as the first one, but everything about it is still amazing. I love the character development and how we get to actually see the relationships between the characters.

definitely reread material ✅
