I really enjoyed the first book in the Hells Belles series and will definitely be continuing with the series. The blurb makes this out to be a somewhat typical regency romance, with an errant debutante and a dashing hero. Not quite.
Caleb is definitely dashing but Sesily is no debutante and the mischief alluded to isn't stolen kisses in the garden but she's a member of a rouge women's group set on righting injustices in a very unjust world. And the group are just delightful, competent in many ways, quippy and clever. I loved being part of their world for the book.
I will say the book does slow down a little in the middle, hence it being a 4 star not 5 star and some of the spicier scenes felt like they were pandering to the Booktok crowd rather than being true to the characters, but ultimately it was a great start to the series and I look forward to continuing it!
