loved this so much more than I was expecting to. new favorite! every character was so damn charming and the story itself is absolutely timeless. would love to see this as an animated film one day.

I actually DNF'd this at 50% because it was so boring. I don't know why people are giving so many stars to this crap. I don't understand why I was able to get to 50% of the way through this dumb thing but I did and I regret it.

This crap took me so long to get through halfway of the book because it just didn't keep my attention and was just boring, as I said before. I don't feel it's worth reading at all. I'm glad I'm finally done with it.

Don't read this book unless you love boring stories.

Aw man, I grew up listening to this book as a little kid and I absolutely loved it! It's such a cute little ridiculous story that is written in such a way that you start to feel like it's a documentary. Still holds up - such a fun goofy story.

A great book that awakened my social conscience when I was a kid. Then after a while my social conscience rolled over and went back to sleep, only to wake intermittently.

I recently re-read this - great book for kids (and adults) to understand how wars happen. War is a difficult thing to discuss with children, as at least mine are really sensitive to death and injury - this book makes all that so much easier to tackle.
