This is a fantastic read. I was gripped from the very first pages and read slowly so I could savour it. The four main characters are super, not all of them likeable but all so well drawn. The reader is taken from Jamaica to London to India and through emotions ranging from laughter to tears to rage. Highly recommended.

I went into reading this with thinking it was not going to be my cup of tea (and not just because unlike all the characters in this book, I literally don't like tea) but as the book developed, my desire to read more about these characters grew. Apart from Bernard who I absolutely deplored, each character had incredible development and became more likeable as the book continued. A good read, that provides an eye opening account of the plight of the Windrush Generation.
