3.5 stars.

The Banks is a really entertaining heist and revenge story with relatable character dynamics and enjoyable art. It isn't a masterpiece but it doesn't need to be. I found myself struggling to get through it at times, but I think that's a me problem. I had a good time reading it. Recommended for anyone who enjoys a good heist story.

I was very excited to read this when I found out that Roxane Gay made a graphic novel. The premise is pretty neat, three generations of women in a family get together for a revenge heist. This was so up my alley however there were some flaws. The dialogue felt clunky at times and the tropes that were used in this book were predictable. If you've seen any heist movie at all then you know what to expect in this book. Still, it was a fun read and I think it's worth giving it a read.

Fun family escapade. Okay, so it has some darkness too but it was really well done.
