now that im about to go where this book is set, and am currently in the former yugoslavia itself, the realities and details that sacco can weave into his graphic novels is astounding. as an entry into the history and culture of this area, sacco is a genius.

Wow. Just wow. This was amazing, and is up there with Maus as one of the best graphic novels I've read.

Another amazing piece of reporting by Joe Sacco. Focused on the human aspect of living in war zones, with tons and tons of interviews put in images and stories.

I wasn't ready for this book. It really jumps right in. I don't know anything about the war in Eastern Bosnia. This was not a starter piece.
