Love the writing. The story is fun. Nothing really to complain about. If you enjoyed the movie jump right in.

More mature than Into the Spiderverse, but with the heart and family that's all Miles.

Spiderman probably has 10% screen time of the whole book. A bulk portion of the book was about Miles and I did not plan to read a superhero book only to realise it was about a coming-of-age teenage kid in brooklyn going about with his life and having difficulty coping with everyday life. It an intentional move to portray message of social justice and equality, and its not what i expected in such a book. Ganke was just annoying here, prefer the old Ganke in comicverse.
.
My expectation towards this book took a whole turn all the way to the end of the book.

Pretty good...up until the climax. Then it became trite.

OMG THIS WAS REALLY REALLY GOOD!
I actually remember so much about this book even 2 years after. But you should go into it knowing nothing and just expeience it like i did and have your mind absolutely blown by how amazing it is.
I've only read 2 books by Jason Reynolds but I plan on devouring more because his writing is just asbsolutely freaking amazing.

It was strange to me that this wasn't an origin story. I know the character has existed in the comics for a while and I did see Enter the Spider-verse, but it was odd that this through you in with Miles already being Spiderman and the stuff with the uncle already happened.

this definitely plops you right into the middle of Miles story of being Spiderman and even his first villian. but once catchup happens it's pretty great.
