3.5
Personally I prefer to read books where I like or enjoy the main characters so honestly it wouldnât be my go to pick. However once I got past that I found it was actually a really easy/ captivating read once I acknowledged (not a major plot spoiler)
Despite the slow moving plot I felt compelled to finish it, at least just because I wanted to see if
3.5 stars because it wasnât a bad story

This is a Gothic Romance novel that takes place in the moors that follows a sort of star-crossed romance between Catherine and Heathcliffe.Â
I really liked the writing of this. It was really descriptive and gorgeous. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the book.Â
I also loved the setting. Misty, foggy, chilly moors? Please and thank you. I love Gothic novels for so many reason, but the setting is almost always one of my favorite things.Â
The plot was fine. Nothing spectacular. And it had some elements I really didn't like.Â
Finally, the characters. I didn't like most of them a lot of the time. Some were interesting at times, but overall I wasn't a huge fan of them.Â
Overall, I'm glad I finally read this, but it wasn't my favorite.Â
Moderate: Child abuse, Death, Grief, Mental illness, Sexism, Suicidal thoughts, Animal cruelty, Alcoholism, and Domestic abuse
Minor: Sexual assault
