I have loved this for years, read it, acted it out with Early Years children and Higher Education students (and will be using it today with my undergraduates): full of rhythm and vitality, quirky opportunities for questions, this is a firm favourite.

Oh fine. I don't like the title. I did like how the story starts off. And the twist at the end kind of makes the book okay. But I didn't like the concept, the idea of the book. And I found the text repetitive and annoying. This would probably read aloud just fine. And probably cause giggles. But for me it was at best okay and at worst annoying.

Fun classic tale, but the repetition gets tiresome quickly.
