This book was so good and, everything I expected and more. The complexity of AI bots intermingling in society and how they are not that far off from humanity as one might’ve thought, is a scary feeling to realize especially with how far AI is progressing in real life.

I wish the author had studied up on AI and how the field of general intelligence is progressing to better inform her on slight behaviors that make little Sense. Feminist cues way too on the nose. Some other philosophical and societal commentary that was also too obviously made. Some really interesting insights nonetheless.

I loved this book! Annie was immediately such an interesting and powerful lead. This book is full of trigger warnings for DV and connected issues of consent. It really explores the concept of abusive relationships in a setting where Annie literally has to obey him. It's an amazing expression of how sci-fi can be used to tell stories about life today. Beware the TW and stay safe!
