We make our own history, both past and future

everything George Orwell predicted in 1984 happened in the year 2064. Essie, a writer, is willing to chnage the world, with the help from beyond the grave. Matthew Corley, a deceased famous BBC director , is brought back to life with the help of a simulator.

This is a rich story, one of the few that makes you wish it was longer.

Really enjoyed this, it's the perfect length. It takes the ambiguities of studying history and biographies and gives them flesh, literally. For such a short story it also carries out some impressive world building with just a few words.

Interesting exploration of possible technology. I think if this technology was possible it would become ubiquitous in a way that would counteract the actions in this story, i.e. a resurrected Ronald Reagan might be circulated at the same time. Still, I like it.

Intriguing concept. Seems like the kind of thing Vonnegut would have appreciated.
