i hated the miscommunication. another one of those overused tropes in romance books. I get that miscommunication happens a lot irl too but not in these kind of scenarios.
also, some themes (like the situation with kayla) could've been discussed so much more thoroughly. I'm sad it got overshadowed by the miscommunication.
the epilogue was cute but why do all sport romances that ive read end up with marriage and children??? I'd love one where they get married and don't have children

Zoe Clark can't seem to stop running into Dylan Reed in the most unconventional and embarrassing ways. After more than one awkward run in, Zoe and Dylan realize they will be living together. Somehow Dylan's coach forgot Zoe was living in the apartment that he let Dylan stay in.
Dylan is positive that they're going to be best friends, but Zoe has to figure out how not to fall for her new roommate.

Ella Maise books are such a cute cozy comfy (steamy?!!) time. I have been listening to the audiobooks lately to reexperience them and its been so much fun.
Zoe is f* hilarious. This girl walked in on him peeing- schlong out and everything- and decided avoiding him every time after was the best idea. She's so shy and awkward to start, I really felt for her. I loved seeing her slowly open up though and get more comfortable. As their friendship started to develop we could see so much of her personality and genuine connection with Dylan.
The way Dylan was an absolute golden retriever for this woman!! Him just admiring her rambling, and supporting her pizza addiction, and her overall is so damn swoony. He's the best version of a college sports player. No manwhore tendencies and all the golden retriever goodness.
This is definitely a slow burn, but it's so worth it. I love the friendship moments just as much as I love the relationship aspect of their dynamic. Ella Maise knocked it out of the part with the friends to lovers trope.
There's also so much more going on in this book! There's a mysterious element, and a plot twist that is so good. I highly recommend checking tw/cw because there are some heavier topics that are discussed when it comes to the characters and what they struggled with throughout the book.
I'm such an Ella Maise fan and cannot wait for new books. For now, I will be relistening to the ones she has out.
