Felt like a side quest in the best possible way. Nice to go back to more lowkey witcher stories without having the world about to end. Tho maintaining the political intrigue and a lot more actual witchering. Obviously not perfect and some stuff felt a bit unnecessarily uncomfortable; the authors portrayal of butch women.
Overall nice to round off the series, especially with that ambiguous epilogue and I did enjoy the unusual story structure of bouncing back and forth to interludes.

This was an engaging, quick read. It’s always easy to dive in to a Witcher book for me! And with this one, I’ve officially read them all. Overall, this was a single, contained adventure that occurs (mainly) before the events of the main series and, I think, Sword of Destiny. I still love The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny best, I think, as they’re the easiest to jump into and digest, and the parable structure feels the freshest, somehow. Season of Storms has fewer monsters and more slippery people in it. But lots of Dandelion makes up for that, somewhat.

Bit of an unsatisfactory ending, otherwise entertaining
