"Story of one ordinary family and their unexpected adventure of a lifetime"? Absolutely not.
Excepected a fast-paced apocalyptic story full of said adventure, but got a slow burning character driven family drama instead.
Positives
Excepected a fast-paced apocalyptic story full of said adventure, but got a slow burning character driven family drama instead.
Positives
- Short alternating chapters
- An easy read
- Some dark humour
Negatives
- Slow burn
- Ending felt rushed, it's like the author dragged the story up to the last 50-70 pages and then unloaded everything to try catch up
- Name dropping.. a lot of side characters, too many and whose names I already don't recall. I literally just finished the book.
Graphic: Addiction and Alcoholism
Moderate: Gun violence
Minor: Sexual content and Suicidal thoughts
