**Thank you Jonathan Ball Publishers for gifting me this copy in exchange for an honest review.

A true story based on the life of the author James Bowen and his ginger cat named Bob. A really heartwarming Christmas read that will give you hope.

Would definitely recommend this book. A quick read and my only complaint is that I wish it was longer.

“Christmas had become even less meaningful to me. It was simply a time of the year that needed to be survived, not enjoyed.”

Kaunis joulutarina. Tosin kirjan nimi ei mielestäni sopinut tarinaat, joka keskittyi enemmän Bobin omistanan elämään. Joku tästä tuntui puuttuvan, mutta oli silti hyvä lukukokemus.

A Gift from Bob is not your ordinary festive tale. Author James Bowen tells the story of a very different Christmas than the lavish extravaganzas many of us are used to nowadays. Instead of turkey dinners with all the trimmings and presents coming out of our ears, James and Bob's Christmas is a sparse affair. Barely surviving on the very minimum when it comes to money, James is struggling to make ends meet. Without a stable income and with food and heating bills to pay on top of the usual rent payment, it's no surprise that he must scrape the bare necessities together for Christmas. From treats for Bob to a festive meal to a gift for Belle, a close friend, the hardships that James faces are ones that many of us simply don't think about.

A Gift from Bob is all about reflection and gratitude. It spreads a very important message; that you should always be grateful for what you have and you should never take anything for granted. It's simple enough, but at Christmas time, the moral of this story is one we could all do with remembering every once in a while.

There simply aren't enough Bob books for me! Although I read this book with Christmas only a month away, this would be an amazing story regardless the time of year. I devoured it in one day. James Bowen is struggling to come up with enough money to heat his small flat during the holiday season. While others are out shopping and celebrating, he works to earn a few dollars busking on the street with his cat, Bob. It's bitter cold, but he does what he has to, Bob right there with him, teaching quiet lessons in his own special way.

I simply can't say enough about these books and the special bond between James and Bob. The miracle it works in their life is amazing. A feel-good story is a gift any time of year, but especially during the holiday season. I have no doubt I will read every Bob book again and again. Beautiful!

The final chapter in the original adventures of James Bowen and Bob the street cat. Christmas is upon James, and he is not looking forward to it. However, this year is different and he might actually enjoy the holiday this time. I though the chapter “Ghost of Christmas Past” was an emotional look into James past. Overall, a good end to the tales of James and Bob. I know there are other books but I consider this the end of the trilogy. I recommend the trilogy: A Street Cat Named Bob, The World According to Bob, and A Gift from Bob.
