Good story, interesting to read. Some of the elements regarding the interaction with the handler and the canine felt much more like beloved pet then working dog, which threw me off the pace. Outside of that, it's a good story.

Mattie Cobb is a police detective with a K9 partner working on a small town in Colorado. Her latest case turns out to have a very personal connection and her past will hold the answers she needs to solve the crime.

This is the 4th book in the series, but I didn't feel lost for long. I really liked Maggie's relationship with her dog, Robo. That was the best part of the book. I would definitely read more in this series.

Mattie Cobb was looking forward to reuniting with her long estranged brother. Instead, she is scouring the hills for a killer and is in danger herself. Of course my favorite character, Robo, is right in the thick of things with her in a great mystery. I really have enjoyed the Timber Creek series so far but this one left me a bit worried. Mattie Cobb is a deputy. Yet the local vet, Cole Walker, feels the need to stress over her like an over protective parent. As the chapters flip back and forth between the two of them, I got rather annoyed with his thoughts of not letting her do something when that something was her job. His protectiveness and possessiveness quickly went from being supportive and caring to sexist and chauvinistic. Hopefully Cole has a serious heart to heart with himself before he goes too far.

A copy of this book was provided by NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books in exchange for an honest review.

Well done! The featured K-9 is true to breed, and I loved that. Thank you to the author. This book has a bit of romance, lots of mystery and some suspense. Pure enjoyment. I would love to read the others in this series.

My copy came from Net Galley. My review is my own left here because I can do that.

Welp, I'm going to have to add this series to my favorite authors list. Fascinating view of living in a smallish town in the Colorado Rockies. A little unbelievable, but I loved the parts with the dog. Robo is a star!
