Tropes: Why Choose, Dark Romance, Slow-Burn, High School Romance, Secret Society

Thank you to the author for providing me with an E-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

This book is a continuation from Ruthless Rejection. If you have not read the first two books of this series (Twisted Lies & Ruthless Rejection), you will have to read them before you read this novella. The announcement of the Chosen has been revealed and we see that Owen has been taken, and Ariah has disappeared. Without the heirs having Ariah by their side, they are in torment.

This book follows the boys: Wes, Wyatt, Sebastian, Owen, and Lev. In each POV, you can feel how angry and frustrated they all are -- like I felt it in my chest. I was so captivated by the novella, and I can't wait to read Book 3.

The way I someone to just take Sam OUT and for this Series to never end!
we get all of our guys POV in this one, no POV from Aria in this one but, that's okay we still have some pretty steamy scenes with her in it (non-con).

Brutal Revelation picks up where we left off in book two and oh my gosh my heart is just breaking for Owen. there is no happy ending with this novella I am left with even more questions and a whole lot of EMOTIONAL DAMAGE. book 3 cannot come soon enough!

Also dying to know what the heck Wyatt took off the nightstand and put in his pocket, I think I know what it is, but I need someone to Confirm!

This novella was perfectly placed within the series. You get more information on what is going on. I really enjoyed it and thought it tied in very well. Highly recommend. Check TW/CW

Brutal Revelation is a short read novella that is from the heirs POV, and was so freaking good. The beauty within the words of this book just hits on a different level pulling at your heartstrings and emotions in every direction. This picks up right were Ruthless Rejection ends when the heirs pick their Chosen. Some answers are reveled; while other questions come to light. P.H. Nix has left me in a chokehold with this one. Needing and wanting to know what will happen next…I cannot wait for the next book!

“You finally understand what I’ve been saying to you all—she’s it for us. Anyone else, and this all will turn to shit. Especially if that anyone is Samantha fucking Davenport.”

Loved this MMC POV-only novella! I was hoping it would serve as a stopgap between books after the cliffy of book two, but it actually made it worse! I don’t know how I will manage until book three is released.

The spice is minimal as the FMC is not collocated with the MMCs. It's still there, found in flashbacks, dreams, and stolen moments, but I was so immersed in the drama surrounding the heirs, I didn't find it lacking.

Genre: Dark Bully Academy Romance
Tropes/Features: Elite High School, secret society, family secrets, plus-sized FMC, family heirs, forced marriage, kidnapping, torture, revenge, somnophilia
Narrator: Multiple 1st Person POV – MMCs’ POV only
Relationship Type: Why Choose - MFMMM
Book Type/Ending: Novella, Book 2.5 in Edgewood Academy Series, cliffhanger ending
TW/CW: Extensive list available through author’s linktree (link in book)

I cried.... a lot

NIX YOU DID IT AGAIN. Picking up right where book 2 left off, we get to see the events after owen is kidnapped. The boys are devastated to find out that Riyah left and does it show. The writing in this novella really encapsulates how depressed this group is. The internal dialogue from the MMCs was so good. I could really feel the grief from them. OWEN NEEDS TO BE LEFT ALONE IN THE NEXT BOOK, I SWEAR. I actually wasnt disappointed in the ending. I knew that what I wanted was a little unrealistic for a companion novella, (DIE SAM) I was not disappointed and this book honestly is very necessary for the series
