this book made me cry a couple times, not gonna lie. despite the fact it took me longer than usual to finish it, i thoroughly enjoyed it. mitch albom is one of my favorite authors, and i find his creative writing style one of the reasons why i keep coming back to him. while you do have to suspend your belief a little bit, it does not take away from the beautiful story.

“It is not in the bones. Nor the lips or the lungs or even in the hands. I am Music. And Music is in the connection of human sold, speaking a language that needs no words.”

one of my favorite things about this book was that it was from the pov of music itself. music is this alive entity- or ”talent”- and the way it shows it’s relationship with frankie, as well as the audience, is so beautiful. the only thing i didn’t love about the book was that he reused the same line or two for emphasis, and sometimes it could be a little to repetitive. however, it didn’t bring the book down for me. definitely one of my favorite books!

Everyone joins a band in this life. And what you play always affects someone.
Sometimes, it affects the world.
