Surf Road by Hazel Jacks is book number 3 in her Fire Island series, but it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. This was an emotional, slow burn story that had me anxious to know what was going to happen, I COULD NOT put this down. The dual POV was written very well, and there were times I felt like I was in the story with the characters watching everything happen it was so detailed. It wasn't as spicy as some of my other reads. However, Hazel chose quality over quantity, and I was not left disappointed. 😉

I've been putting this off for a hot minute not on purpose but bc other things have come up so it's been a while since I read the book.
I liked the progression of the relationship - the friends to fake dating to actually dating. I'm a sucker for friends to lovers and for fake dating its no wonder I loved it. I also really liked how Eaton respected Sadie's boundaries and insecurities and those boundaries stayed in place for a while instead of being brushed off and her being told that's she beautiful either way and that magically ridding her of her insecurities.
